The operative, Hudayfah al Yemeni, is an “ISIS attack facilitator,” a press release from United States Central Command stated. He and his partners were caught by United States forces throughout a helicopter raid on Saturday.
Their capture will “interrupt” ISIS’ “capability to plot and perform operations,” according to the release.
” Operations versus ISIS are essential for the security and stability of the area,” Col. Joe Buccino, a CENTCOM representative, stated in the release on Wednesday. “ISIS stays a risk to the area and beyond– the group keeps the ability to perform operations in Iraq and Syria with a desire to strike beyond the Middle East, and its disgusting ideology stays a risk. Operations such as this one declares our dedication to the long-lasting defeat of ISIS.”
Of the operatives who were apprehended, a minimum of 8 were associated with strategies to assault ISIS detention centers in Syria, the release this month stated.
