This cynical strategy paid major dividends for Democrats

Throughout the 2022 main season, Democrats actively meddled in a variety of Republican races– intending to increase GOP prospects who they deemed too severe (particularly on the problem of election denialism) to win basic elections.

All informed, Democrats invested countless dollars interfering in Republican politician primaries for Senate, Home and guv around the nation.

The dispute at the time was whether this was unclean swimming pool by Democrats. After all, they– and President Joe Biden in specific– had actually made the defense of democracy from those who would question it the focal point of the 2020 project and beyond.

If Democrats genuinely thought that sowing doubt about complimentary and reasonable elections was a deep and severe danger to democracy, then how could they validate investing cash to raise prospects who upheld those very views?

That stays a rewarding dispute. However what is beyond dispute is that Democratic meddling in Republican primaries was extremely reliable.

Think about the 6 races where, according to CNN forecasts, Democrats effectively assisted increase reactionary Republican politicians.

Each of those 6 Democrats, I would think, would happily trade the short disapprobation for their celebration’s meddling in primaries for those far-easier-than-expected triumphes on Election Day.

The Point: Since politics is a video game of copycat, my strong guess is that we will see this take place once again (and once again) in the future. Since, like it or not, it works.
