Ohio ex-con who fatally punched teen in 2022 faces murder charges in shooting

An Ohio ex-convict who went to jail for beating a 17-year-old to death in 2022 was apprehended recently after cops implicated him of eliminating a spectator throughout a shootout in Akron.

The U.S Marshals Service and Akron cops stated they took Deshawn Stafford, 24, into custody on murder charges Thursday after he was connected to the deadly shooting of 25-year-old Timothy Hutchinson.

Authorities stated Mr. Hutchinson was eliminated in the hail of bullets exchanged in between Mr. Stafford and another guy around midnight Oct. 5.

” Timothy Hutchinson is simply an awful catastrophe that he lost his life when he wasn’t associated with anything and actually was simply an innocent spectator captured in the crossfire of these 2 people,” Akron Authorities Lt. Michael Murphy stated.

Mr. Stafford likewise deals with attack, weapon and drug-related charges in connection to the fatal shooting.

The suspect formerly invested 18 months behind bars after he was founded guilty in the June 2022 killing of Ethan Liming.

Ethan was with a group of individuals who fired a toy pellet weapon at another group playing basketball beyond the I Guarantee School, an Akron public school mainly supported by NBA star LeBron James.

Authorities stated individuals on the basketball court went to challenge the group shooting the toy weapon and a battle broke out.

Throughout the scrum, cops stated Mr. Stafford knocked Ethan to the ground with a punch. The Top County Medical Inspector stated Ethan’s head striking versus the pavement triggered his death.

A jury discovered Deshawn Stafford and his more youthful bro, Tyler, guilty of attack in the occurrence, however Mr. Stafford was acquitted of the most severe charge of uncontrolled murder.

After finishing his sentence, Mr. Stafford was spoken with by A&E about the case for the real criminal offense program “Charged: Did I Do It?”

Mr. Stafford revealed regret about Ethan’s death in the documentary, which aired in April.

” I want I might take whatever back,” the ex-convict stated. “I want I might have taken the punch back. I still want he lived. All of us was still young and everyone wishes to age one day and everyone wishes to experience life, and he didn’t get to experience that.”

About a week before Timothy Hutchinson was fatally shot, court records revealed Mr. Stafford was sentenced to probation on drug charges.

On the other hand, his bro Tyler was sentenced to 15 to 19 years in jail for felony attack and other criminal activities in 2 different cases.
