Newark Airport plagued by another radio outage as FAA issues ground delay over staffing issues

Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey experienced staffing concerns and a radio interruption on Monday, weeks after a previous radio interruption was reported at a close-by Federal Air travel Administration (FAA) station.

The FAA informed Fox News that Philadelphia TRACON Location C “lost radio frequencies” at around 11:35 a.m. on Monday. The hold-up lasted 2 seconds.

” All airplane stayed securely separated,” the declaration included. “The FAA is examining.”

Likewise on Monday, the FAA released a ground hold-up at Newark Airport lasting from 2:07 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. The firm noted “staffing” as the factor for the relocation.

Philadelphia TRACON Location C is the very same center where air traffic controllers suffered a 90-second-long interruption on Apr. 28. The FAA station guides flights into and out of Newark.

The National Air Traffic Controllers Association validated the Apr. 28 event to Fox News Digital, composing that the Philadelphia TRACON Location C “momentarily lost radar and interactions with the airplane under their control, not able to see, hear, or talk with them.”

That month, Newark Airport experienced hundreds upon numerous flight cancellations and hold-ups, triggering an action from the federal government. Transport Secretary Sean Duffy required an infrastructural upgrade to air transport in action to the mayhem.

” The innovation that we are utilizing is old. That’s what is triggering the blackouts and hold-ups we are seeing at Newark,” Duffy stated on X.
