JACKSONVILLE, Fla.– Florida quarterback DJ Lagway left Saturday’s video game versus No. 2 Georgia with an obvious hamstring injury.
Replays revealed Lagway getting his left hamstring throughout a 3-yard run in the 2nd quarter. He was hauled off the field to a loud ovation and with the Gators leading 10-3 in competition referred to as “The World’s Largest Outdoor Mixer.”
Beginning quarterback Graham Mertz is currently out for the season with a torn ligament in his left knee, so the Gators needed to turn to walk-on Aidan Warner versus among the very best defenses in the Southeastern Conference.
Lagway, an extremely promoted freshman from Texas, finished 2 of 6 passes for 47 backyards, consisting of a 43-yarder to Aidan Mizell for a goal.
