Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez might have styled herself as a protector of ladies, however she obviously does not have much regard for their athletic accomplishments.

The New york city Democrat went “Mean Ladies” on previous University of Kentucky swimmer Riley Gaines in a heated social-media exchange after she provided a cautioning about the Democratic Celebration’s hard-left tilt.

It started when Ms. Gaines published a picture of the congresswoman at a Sunday rally with Sen. Bernard Sanders, to support New york city mayoral prospect Zohran Mamdani– all 3 being socialists who work on far-left platforms.

” We’re being ruined from within,” stated Ms. Gaines in a post on X.

Ms. Ocasio-Cortez reacted Monday– not by engaging Ms. Gaines on the problems, however by mocking at her fifth-place surface in the 200-yard freestyle at the 2022 NCAA Department I ladies’s swimming and diving champions.

Stated Ms. Cortez on X: “Perhaps if you carried all this anger into swimming much faster you would not have actually been available in 5th.”

Ms. Gaines, who notoriously connected with transgender swimmer Lia Thomas, implicated the congresswoman of hypocrisy on the female empowerment concern.

” It’s * constantly * ‘we support ladies’s rights!’ till it’s a lady who desires the right to contend & & undress devoid of less than average guys,” stated Ms. Gaines, who hosts OutKick’s “Gaines on Girls” podcast. “Keep your psychologically ill guys out of our sports, locker spaces, jails, and so on”

She likewise wasn’t ready to excuse being just the fifth-fastest female freestyler in the race.

” It’s constantly funny when they believe they have actually landed a ‘gotcha’ by mentioning I was the 5th-fastest female * in the country * yet they easily forget the average male who ranked 462nd in the guys’s department lol,” stated Ms. Gaines on X.

She included: “Misogynistic dunce.”

Backing her up was Sen. Tommy Tuberville, Alabama Republican Politician, who has actually sponsored legislation to forbid biological males from contending in female sports.

” What took place to ‘support all ladies’ @AOC?” asked Mr. Tuberville on X. “@Riley_Gaines_ is a 5x SEC Champ and 12x NCAA All-American. Not to discuss she’s a patriot who has actually combated every day for ladies and women.”

He included: “On the other hand, AOC believes ‘ladies’s rights’ simply suggests abortion.”

In January, Ms. Ocasio-Cortez signed up with most Democrats in voting versus H.R. 28, the Defense of Ladies and Ladies in Sports Act, which would prohibit federal help to athletic programs that enable biological males to contend in female-designated sports.

The step passed your home however has yet to get a vote in the Senate.
