CARBONDALE, Kan.– 4 police officers were shot Saturday early morning while reacting to a house in a backwoods south of Topeka, Kansas.
The shooting was around 10:30 a.m. 3 Osage County constable’s deputies and one Kansas Highway Patrol cannon fodder were shot, Kansas Bureau of Examination representative Melissa Underwood stated.
Their conditions are “still really fluid,” Underwood stated.
A male suspect passed away from gunshot injuries, leaders from the Kansas Bureau of Examination and state Highway Patrol stated. Another male was hurt and required to a healthcare facility and remains in steady condition, authorities stated.
Deputies and cannon fodders were reacting to a domestic violence occurrence north of Carbondale. They were on scene for numerous minutes when shooting appeared, authorities stated.
Numerous police reacted right away to the call of the shooting, authorities stated.

The scene of the shooting is a home off a two-lane roadway that goes to Topeka. Authorities obstructed off the roadway about six-tenths of a mile south of there.
The location of the shooting is a rural area near U.S. Highway 75. There is no active hazard to the general public, Underwood stated.
