Swift’s previous property owner, who offered the house for $11.5 million in early 2019 after owning it for 15 years, obviously had no concept who the songstress was when her individuals connected about leasing his home.
According to Individuals, at the time Swift was leasing it, 23 Cornelia Street was owned by David Aldea, a previous executive at Soho Home, a hotel chain and group of personal members’ clubs.
” I’m simply not a pop-culture person, and I even stated to somebody, ‘I’m satisfying an individual called Taylor Swift who wishes to lease my house,'” Aldea informed Vulture in 2019.
” Now, mind you, I understood her tunes since I had them on my running playlist. I simply didn’t match the name to the tune. I understand, it’s ridiculous,” he included.
And for the record, Aldea likewise stated Swift was “an outright pleasure to handle” throughout the rental procedure and he was “so honored” she composed a tune about his previous house.
” I put my heart and soul into structure, creating, and embellishing this home, and for someone like Taylor to come along and see what I saw and like what I enjoyed, like what I developed, it was an overall compliment and I will constantly be grateful to her for that,” he informed Vulture. “And when I heard the tune came out, I simply believed to myself, ‘Wow, that is the most unbelievable sort of thank-you and nod that anybody might ever get.'”
