Sydney Sweeney, Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Emily Blunt, Dwayne Johnson, Jeremy Allen White and a number of other Oscar hopefuls went to the Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences’ 16th Governors Awards Sunday night in Los Angeles to honor the 2025 receivers of AMPAS’ Honorary Oscars.
The event admired 4 motion picture market titans– Tom Cruise, Debbie Allen, Dolly Parton and Wynn Thomas– for their life time contributions to the craft. Cruise, Allen and Thomas will each get Honorary Oscars, while Parton will get the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, which is likewise an Oscar statuette.
While AMPAS’ Governors Awards happen months before the company’s yearly Oscars event, each of the receivers will be acknowledged at the 98th Academy Awards event, which is set for March 15, 2026, in Los Angeles.
