A staffer for Sen. Tammy Duckworth, D-Ill., has actually been fired after the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) stated he misrepresented himself as the lawyer of an apprehended unlawful immigrant to assist in the guy’s release.
Recently, U.S. Migration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Performing Director Todd Lyons informed the Illinois Democrat that her staffer, Edward York, declared he was lawfully representing Jose Ismeal Ayuzo Sandoval.
Sandoval, a 40-year-old unlawful immigrant, had a DUI conviction and was formerly deported 4 times to Mexico.
According to ICE, the staffer made the claim to federal representatives after going into an ICE center in St. Louis, Illinois, on Oct. 29.

” At roughly 1:29 p.m., a private recognized as Edward York, who, according to openly readily available info, is used as a Constituent Outreach Organizer for your Senate workplace, went into the field workplace lobby, and in a conversation with a federal officer, declared to be Mr. Ayuzo’s lawyer. In a letter on Monday, Duckworth resolved Lyons and stated that the staffer was fired.

” Upon evaluating the matter, I can validate that neither I nor my management group understood, licensed or directed what your letter refers to as the staff member’s conduct,” the message read.
Duckworth then validated that her workplace “ended the work of stated staff member, efficient November 17, 2025.”
Lyons had actually offered the senator a Monday due date to supply responses about the staffer’s work and whether he purposefully rested on federal government files.
